Arthritis of
the Spine: Spinal Arthritis
|
When you thing about having
arthritis of the spine (spinal arthritis) you could be
thinking about the pain that may follow along with it. That
is true about the pain that may come along with arthritis of
the spine. Arthritis of the spine is one of the more painful
places to develop arthritis. That is mainly because all of
your nerves that go throughout your body is in the spinal
cord.
There are options out there
that are going to be able to help you deal with the pain of
arthritis of the spine. Your doctor may tell you take an
over the counter medication for the pain or he or she may
prescribe you a prescription to help deal with the pain that
is associated with arthritis of the spine (spinal
arthritis).
If the two of you notice that
the over the counter medication and/or the prescriptions are
not helping you with any of the pain they may mention to you
about surgery. When you are offered surgery for the
arthritis of the spine you could think that there is no way
that you are going to have that done because of the risks
that are with surgeries.
There
is one question to ask yourself and that is are you going to
be able to continue to deal with the pain that is associated
with arthritis of the spine or would you rather have the
operation completed so that you are going to be able to go
back to all of your normal activities that you may have not
been able to do for quit some time. There are many different
things to take into consideration when it comes down to the
option of the surgery but it is going to be best to talk to
your doctor about all of your concerns and worries.
You know that there are risks
and complications to the surgery to help with the arthritis
of the spine but really you are taking a risk every time
that you are getting a surgery done not just the one for
arthritis of the spine. The best thing to do is talk to your
doctor to have a discussion what is the best option for you
with your arthritis of the spine (spinal arthritis).
